Welcome to the new NOAA Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC) blog. You can find our webpage at: http://www.pifsc.noaa.gov
Our new Twitter account is at: https://twitter.com/NOAAFish_PIFSC
Both this blog and our Twitter account are experiments in reaching out to you, the public and our stakeholders, in a timely and efficient manner.
This is an official NOAA and U.S. Department of Commerce blog whose purpose is to provide professional scientific information related to the conservation and management of living marine resources in the central and western Pacific. We hope to share the work being conducted by our scientific staff in the field and here in Honolulu (and now in Pago Pago, Guam, and Saipan) in a dynamic, timely, and public-friendly way. As our posts develop, we hope to bring you to our field camps, our research cruises, our publications, and our outreach events.
We are beginning cautiously in that this blog will be carefully monitored. We look forward to user comments but we will be judicious in that all Replies must be on point and free of vulgar or otherwise offensive language or references.
Off-line comments can be sent via our web page at: http://www.pifsc.noaa.gov/do/domail.php
Please let us know what you think and what you would like to hear about.
Aloha. Sam Pooley, director
