United Fishing Agency’s Frank Goto Honored by NOAA Fisheries

On Tuesday, December 17, Frank Goto of the United Fishing Agency was recognized for his “leadership and many contributions to the commercial fishing and seafood industries in Hawaii and the Pacific Islands Region.” Samuel Rauch, Assistant Administrator for NOAA Fisheries presented Mr. Goto with a plaque that will hang at the NOAA Fisheries Honolulu Service Center at Pier 38. Among those gathered were a small group of fishing and fishery management leaders and Margaret Cummisky, a long time associate of U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye and current Department of Commerce Assistant Secretary for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs. In his remarks at the 2012 opening of the service center, the Senator credited Mr. Goto with being the driving force behind the establishment of the NOAA Fisheries Honolulu Service Center and asked that he be acknowledged for his efforts.
